Il Camino di San Benedetto è un percorso di circa 300 km which Norcia borders, the birthplace of San Benedetto, in Montecassino, where the famous abbey lies. It is one of the deepest spiritual journeys of Italy.
Crossing the central Appennine between Umbria and Lazio, passing through Subiaco, the foundations of the Benedettina monastic life. Qui il path is not only paesaggio: it is silence, eremi, foreste and ancient borghi.
📍 The path
The road starts from Norcia, in Umbria, across the Valnerina, enters Lazio passing through Subiaco and the Benedettini Monastery, ending at the Abbey of Montecassino.
The tap was around 16 and alternate sentieri montani, tratti boschivi and passages in piccoli borghi medievali. It is less important to look at Via Francigena, which is more important from a physical point of view.
