I didn't know the sky could move like that.
I didn't know I was going to hear it either.
We left the small shelter just after eight o'clock. The temperature was around -12°C, but the guide encouraged us: "Tonight will be special." We walked in silence, cameras ready, tripods on our shoulders, fingers half-numb, and a lukewarm hope in our chests.
In front of us, the darkest night I had ever seen in my life.
And suddenly, a whisper of light.
The first green lines appeared thin, timid, as if someone were painting the sky with an invisible brush. But then they opened up in a dance that seemed to have a rhythm of its own. Greens, violets, blues… they rose and fell, swirling around themselves as if the universe were breathing.
The instructor helped us set up the camera. High ISO, maximum aperture, long exposure. I could barely concentrate. I wanted to capture it, yes, but I also wanted to stay still, watch, and never forget what I felt.
At that moment, I realized: I didn't come just to photograph the aurora. I came to experience something unforgettable.
