🍋 Cómo hacer limoncello y embotellar un poco de sol

Limoncello is that bottled Italian sunshine. Originally from the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, this homemade liqueur is made with just a few ingredients and a lot of patience. Here's how to make it at home.

Ingredients:

  • 8 organic lemons (skin only)
  • 500 ml of edible ethyl alcohol or high-proof vodka
  • 700 ml of water
  • 400 g of sugar

Preparation:

  1. Wash the lemons well and peel them carefully, using only the yellow part (avoid the white part, which is bitter).
  2. Place the peels in an airtight glass jar and cover with alcohol. Let macerate for 7 days in a cool, dark place.
  3. After that time, filter the alcohol and set aside. Boil the water with the sugar until completely dissolved and let it cool.
  4. Mix the cold syrup with the filtered alcohol. Bottle and let it rest for at least 10 days before serving. Serve very cold.
