🕊️ MEDITATION IN A BUDDHIST TEMPLE – CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
Silencing the mind is listening to the soul

Nestled among verdant hills and incense-scented paths, a Buddhist temple opens its doors not only to visitors, but to anyone willing to pause. Here, the experience isn't about accumulating photos, but about stopping, breathing, and simply being. The external pace slows, and the inner self finds a space to organize thoughts, emotions, and lingering silences.
Led by Thai monks, the retreat offers Vipassana meditation practices, mindful walks, and moments of deep introspection. The days begin with chanting at dawn and continue with exercises that encourage observing the breath, body, and mind without haste or judgment. The goal is not to "achieve" something, but to create space to see clearly what is already there.
You can attend for a single day or stay for three to seven nights, sharing vegetarian meals, retreats in the meditation hall, and moments of solitude under ancient trees. The day is structured with alternating periods of formal practice, simple tasks (such as helping to tidy or clean), and breaks for rest. Teachings are given in English, with occasional assistance in other languages.
The setting is simple and sacred: modest attire is requested (white or light-colored clothing, shoulders and knees covered), as well as respect for common areas and a willingness to maintain silence for much of the day. No prior experience in meditation is necessary; all that is needed is an open attitude, curiosity, and a desire to listen to what is usually overlooked.
